MY STORY

"Get busy living, or get busy dying."

Storytellers play many roles. We produce, direct, shoot, write, design, edit—and occasionally figure out everything in between. With nearly two decades of experience across independent film, commercial production, higher education, and freelance work, I’ve learned to wear a lot of hats.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked beside award-winning creators on stories ranging from supernatural thrillers and westerns, to mysteries, dramas, and romances. My credits include The Fields with Academy Award winner Cloris Leachman and Tara Reid, Good Day for It with Saturn Award-winning actor Robert Patrick and cinematographer Stephen Kazmierski, and multiple award-winning projects with Third Child Productions, including Ghosting, A Host of Sparrows, and That Kiss. These projects keep me connected to what drew me to filmmaking in the first place: human stories told through image, sound, performance, and atmosphere.

My work has taken me from film sets and concert stages to classrooms and college campuses. As Senior Videographer for Music & Arts, I collaborated with Fender, D’Addario, Pearl, Yamaha, and artists including Too Many Zooz, Colbie Caillat, Halestorm, and A Great Big World. Today, as Video Producer for Frederick Community College, I create content across the institution—including commercial work airing on our local NBC affiliate—oversee programming for FCCTV, and develop accessible video workflows incorporating captioning and audio description. I also continue to produce freelance work through Edwin Koester Videography.

Across it all, my work has earned multiple awards, reached more than a million viewers online, and appeared on Amazon, iTunes, Netflix, Google Play, Virgin 1, and CNN. Whatever the medium, the goal remains simple: find the story, and find the best way to tell it.

MY SERVICES

"The heart of the matter."

Edwin Koester Videography is a full-service, mobile production company serving Maryland and the surrounding region. From first idea to final delivery, I work with clients to create thoughtful, visually compelling content built around their needs, their audience, and—most importantly—their story. That means more than making something look good. It means listening, collaborating, solving problems, and finding the idea at the heart of what a client wants to say. Whether I’m producing, writing, directing, shooting, designing, or editing, the goal is to make the process feel creative, personal, and—whenever possible—easy.

Because in the end, it’s all about story. Stories that speak to who we were, who we are, and who we yearn to be. Stories that resonate. And when our stories resonate just right, we fulfill our deepest wish:

We find our heart.
